Often only male historical figures are depicted in public spaces, such as along the Fürstengraben in Jena. This project aims to counteract this: Temporary portraits of important women from education and science are intended to create a new awareness of visibility and a culture of remembrance.

The idea is to depict a total of six female personalities on portrait posters along the Fürstengraben. The posters are to be mounted on simple wooden frames. Accompanying texts will introduce the women and explain the project, including Caroline Schelling, Mathilde Vaerting, Rowena Morse and Clara Zetkin.

The project is not only intended to inform, but also to initiate a critical examination of public representations. In particular, the title "Papa, who was this woman?" is intended to draw critical attention to the external impact.
