The idea of a "library of things" arises from the consideration of how everyday and study items can be used together instead of purchasing them individually. Many items such as recording devices, microscopes or tools are only used occasionally. Joint lending saves resources and money. The plan is to set up a lending system for rarely used items, initially on a small scale. This could include study-related equipment (e.g. sound recorders or microscopes), but also everyday objects such as cordless drills or sewing machines. The aim is to create a central, low-threshold location where these items can be borrowed easily.
Current status
Questions regarding room utilisation, the lending system and the administration of the items are currently being clarified. In the future, this could develop into a permanent tender at the university.
