The degree programme provides in-depth knowledge of eHealth literacy, technical basics, evidence and risk communication, digital communication and its possible applications, as well as ethical, legal and economic aspects in the implementation of eHealth applications. German: for German-speaking students who wish to deepen their skills in eHealth and Communication.
English: For international students seeking a global approach to the specialism.
Minimum number of participants and choice of language:
We start both cohorts with a minimum of 15 enrolments each. If a year does not achieve sufficient registrations, the degree programme will be offered in the language with the most registrations.
Prospects
Digitalisation will change Medicine dramatically in the coming years. Telemedicine is just the beginning. These possibilities offer opportunities for better care, but also the risks of increasing distance and alienation from the patient. The working world of the future will be even more characterised by complex human-machine interactions and network structures. However, areas with poor healthcare provision in particular can benefit significantly from this and compensate for staff shortages and rural exodus. For many activities, sensibly utilised digital applications can provide relief that we can use for other core tasks.
Furthermore, the communication of research ideas and results to laypeople will be of great importance in the future.
