You will receive a certificate of attendance for participating in the two-day seminar, which can be credited towards the China Competence Certificate with 16 units in Basic Module 1, Regional Competencies.
Seminar programme
China is one of the oldest cultures in the world and, at the same time, one of the most dynamic powers of the present day. This two-day seminar offers you a comprehensive introduction to the historical, political, economic, and geopolitical development of the People's Republic of China.
Together, we will take a look at the key events since the 19th century, analyze the political system, and examine the education system as a central building block of society.
There will be a special focus on China's foreign trade policy and the geopolitical tensions surrounding Taiwan and the South China Sea. In addition, the seminar will provide geographical perspectives and insights into the diversity of China's regions and resources.
The program is rounded off by personal accounts from Linus Schlüter, who looks back on ten years of active travel in China and his many years of work at the Confucius Institute, providing exciting first-hand insights.
