In 2026, the TMBWK, in cooperation with the Stifterverband, will once again award up to nine "Fellowships for Innovations in Digital University Teaching in Thuringia". ?The nine fellowships consist of four individual fellowships, each worth up to €50,000, and up to five tandem fellowships, each worth up to €60,000.

- create incentives for the development and testing of digitally supported teaching and examination formats (for example through blended learning, games, simulations, e-examinations, use of AI) or the curricular redesign of modules and study sections with the consistent use of digital technologies,
- to promote cross-university exchange on (digital) university teaching and the dissemination of the teaching innovations developed by networking the fellows and
- to contribute to the stabilisation of digital university teaching at the universities themselves."
Applications for a fellowship can only be submitted via the university management to ale@uni-jena.de. The university's internal application deadline is 7 April 2026 and the call for applications is aimed at lecturers working at state-funded universities in the Free State of Thuringia. The projects expected to be selected in summer 2026 will be funded over a period of 15 months, from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2027.
