The Colombian-German student project PAC? cordially invites you to the Geokino event on 3 December in Jena. Experience the first screening of the rough cut of the PAC? documentary "Erde die zittert, Wasser das schreit" ("Tierra que tiembla, agua que grita" / "Earth that trembles, water that screams"), which takes you to the Amazonian Putumayo region to the indigenous Nasa community and to the Pacific coast of Colombia to Afro-Colombian communities. The documentary impressively shows how resilient local communities are to extractivism and climate change and the central role that ancestral knowledge systems play in the preservation of culture, identity and the environment.

In addition, members of PAC? present the student project and give a review of the Colombia field trip in September 2026, during which students from the University of Jena and the Universidad del Valle travelled together in southwest Colombia and visited indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities. We will also be showing a short documentary about the Misak people, which offers fascinating insights into the complex topic of indigenous identity.

The event is aimed at all students who are interested in knowledge systems beyond classical Western science, in critical geographies and in academic exchange with Colombia.

PAC? shows its process so far as a bilateral student project and gives an outlook on how interested parties can participate in the activities planned for 2026 - including the second Colombia field trip|study trip and the event "Afroindigenous Geographies: Territory, Ancestralities and Epistemologies of the South" in June 2026 in Jena.
