Prospective students who have not yet applied or have not yet been offered a place after submitting an application are now being given an extra chance at the University of Jena: free remaining places for the Bachelor's degree programmes Biology, Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences and Psychology as well as for the degree programmes Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry will be allocated by lottery.
For degree programmes and subjects with a numerus clausus (admission restriction), it regularly happens that places remain vacant or become vacant again after the end of the regular allocation and succession procedures. The University of Jena then allocates these remaining places to prospective students by lottery. The requirements for this are a valid university entrance qualification (usually the Abitur) and registration for the university's own draw procedure.
Prospective students can still register for the draw procedure for the above-mentioned subjects until 30 September.
Enrolment for degree programmes at the University of Jena with open admissions is also possible until 30 September.
