city cycling 2025

136 active cyclists, 24,217 kilometers cycled, and sixth place in the final rankings. That's the university team's record in last year's STADTRADELN Jena. Can we top that this year?

From August 29 to September 18, 2025, there will once again be an opportunity to collect cycling kilometers at STADTRADELN Jena. The Green Office invites all members and affiliates of the university to participate: Whether you are an employee or a student, anyone can join the umbrella team “Friedrich Schiller University.” In addition, subordinate faculty or group teams can be formed if necessary.

Challenge your colleagues and fellow students and cycle for all you're worth! It keeps you fit, is good for the climate, and above all, it's a lot of fun. So get your bike out of the basement and let's become the largest City Cycling team in Jena!

Competition and driver safety training

For this year's CITY CYCLING campaign, the Green Office has also prepared two promotions in cooperation with ADFC Jena-Saaletal e.V.:

We are giving away 3x 1 bicycle coding among all members of the university team. The coding serves to deter thieves more quickly and, if necessary, to facilitate the return of the bicycle. The winners will be notified by us in the week after September 1, 2025 (calendar week 36). The coding will be carried out by ADFC Jena-Saaletal e.V.

On August 29, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m., ADFC Jena-Saaletal e.V. is hosting a (paid) bicycle safety training course. This is ideal for anyone who wants to improve their riding style by training their body control and balance under professional guidance, or who simply wants to learn interesting tips about cycling in city traffic. The event will take place in the rear parking lot at Am Anger 26. The best part: The Green Office will cover the participation fee for up to six university members—whether employees or students!
